Yankees Pull Off Come Back Beat Red Sox 8-7

The Boston Red Sox were sailing along pretty happily Friday night as they ended seven innings leading the New York Yankees 7-2. It looked as if they were going to increase their lead over New York to 6.5 games, giving them a pretty comfortable margin as the season starts to wind down. But reliever Hideki Okajima suffered a meltdown in the top of the eighth, allowing four runs all earned on three hits and a walk while getting out only one batter. Boston went to their closer Jonathan Paplebon, who blew his third save of the season as he gave up an additional two runs and the Yankees beat Boston 8-7. Paplebon's record falls to 1-3, and New York is now just 4.5 games behind Boston.
